According to the new selection pattern that came into force in SBI PO recruitment 2015, SBI shall conduct a preliminary exam & all those who qualify in this test would be eligible for a main examination.

In June 2015 – online prelims tests (phase I) were held on various dates between 20 - 28.It is said that atleast 15- 18 lakh candidates might have taken this test.Did you appear for the SBI PO Prelims? Cutoff Marks: It is well known that SBI PO results would be based on minimum marks that a candidate must score inorder to qualify for the next stage.This year, the prelims cutoffs are given in the image below:

The cutoffs on total marks for each category is:
- General: 47.50
- OBC: 42.25
- SC: 37.25
- ST: 19.75
SBI Main Exam on July 26:
The phase II of SBI PO recruitment project 2015 is main examination which is scheduled to happen on 26th of July.As part of the main exam, you will have an objective test for 200 marks immediately followed by descriptive test for 50 marks.

Now, Why you did not Qualify?
Disappointments are inevitable in competitive exams as large no. of people apply for a handful of jobs.While some are rejoicing at their results, many are not happy to see a sorry message on the status screen.One of the main reason citied by unsuccessful candidates is the high overall cutoff marks.We don't think it was too high because such a scenario was expected as SBI had to shortlist only a few from lakhs.
If you were thinking on how many candidates cleared SBI PO prelims, then know this. State Bank of India had not revealed the exact nos. but as per their notification, approx. 40,000 candidates could have got selected for mains.But one thing is very clear.It is not enough for a person to just pass in all subjects but should possess high marks in each section so that his/ her total is in the safe region.
